The Communication Division is staffed with front line Public Safety Telecommunicatorís. The Division operates on a 24/7 basis. All are certified by the State of Florida Department of Health and Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Currently the division has 4 full-time Communication officers and 3 part-time communication officers. They are responsible for receiving and processing all calls for assistance or information. They are also the front desk receptionist and are the first contact for all visitors or customers in the department.

Communication officers are call-takers first, answering and screening law, fire and other emergency calls for service, recording essential information into a computer aided dispatch (CAD) system. They are responsible for dispatching Police, Fire, Animal Control, and Public Works after hours. They then dispatch transmitting information via radio to Police and Fire. Deploying the appropriate units to calls, tracking their status, ensuring their safety, providing additional resources and support as needed for each situation.
